Our anniversary stay at The Restoration Hotel was absolutely unforgettable. We were booked into the Grand Two Bedroom Suite with Private Terrace, and it was hands down the most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, every detail felt luxurious and thoughtfully curated. Complimentary beverages and snacks were waiting for us in the room, which was such a wonderful touch. One of our favorite parts of the stay was breakfast delivery in the morning. Fresh fruit and delicious breakfast sandwiches were brought right to our door, all complimentary and we enjoyed everything out on the private terrace! It truly felt peaceful and special. The hotel’s daily Happy Hour from 5–6 PM was another highlight and such a great perk for guests. We also spent time at The Watch Rooftop restaurant, which offers stunning views, amazing cocktails, and incredible food. The atmosphere was perfect for an anniversary celebration. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Every single employee greeted us with a smile and genuinely went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The level of hospitality was exceptional. The Restoration Hotel is truly a gem- full of charm, beauty, and history. Our stay exceeded every expectation, and we are already looking forward to booking another visit soon.

The elevator for the residences section of the hotel (more expensive rooms) was broken our entire four day stay. We had to go up and down three flights of stairs every time we left or went to the room - including our elderly parents and with a baby in a stroller. Communication and responsiveness from the front desk was terrible - probably the worst I’ve experienced. Just a lack of information, preparedness, offering of other solutions, etc. We also had rooms in the other section of the hotel - signature and studio suites - which had two elevators available and both worked. If we had only stayed there, the experience would have been better.

First the good:spacious room with sitting area and kitchenette/bar top counter and stools, fridge. Comfortable bed and quiet room. Central location on historic King Street, good for walking to the market, shopping, restaurants. The misses: no gym on site, over a mile away there is a gym that is affiliated with this hotel. Breakfast in a basket outside the door is a cute idea in theory but two small light & fit yogurts in plastic containers and one bowl of berries, and a lukewarm microwave quiche were not very appealing. The next day, one banana for two people, and two English muffin cheese and egg sandwiches and a bowl of berries…I don’t eat muffins or cheese…..shouldn’t they at least ask for your preference? Coffee can be purchased in the coffee shop attached to the hotel. Thank Goodness! I’ve rarely stayed in a hotel these last years that doesn’t have its own freshly brewed complimentary coffee. The pool on the 5th floor is a joke. 8 chairs in the blazing sun, no shade, just enough room for the chairs around the 8x8 pool. Overall, I slept fine but would choose somewhere else on my next visit to Charleston, SC. If this review has been helpful, please give it a LIKE. Thanks!

This is a great example of fantasy’s not matching reality. From the photos and some of the reviews, you’d expect something incredible. The only incredible part is the location. Hard it best it. But service is slow, check-in was a joke of epic proportion. Room wasn’t ready. We weren’t the only ones. People would show up to check-in, but there wouldn’t be anyone there to check them in. The pool isn’t a pool. It’s a hot tub. Fine in the winter. Nonsensical in the summer. For every nice touch, like cheese and drinks every evening 5-6, there’s a counterweight. For example, they don’t service the rooms everyday. Annoying when the room is $600 / night. They have a Jeep to take you places. Really nice touch. But, that’s counterweighted by a lack of a gym on location. If this was a $200 / night place, it’s 4, if not 5 stars. But at the price for the rooms, it’s a solid 3.

Wonderful happy hour in a beautiful location! William was incredibly helpful, entertaining, and truly made the experience so much fun. The delicious food and wine added so much to my stay, and it was refreshing meeting and talking with other guests. Highly recommend!
